Olivia has blessed our lives so much. She has been such a great baby, every day our love for her grows and we can't imagine our lives without her. You love to eat, sleep and be sang to. The only times you seemed to cry was when you needed to eat, your diaper changed or you were too hot or cold, you have been so easy going. We would take you down to the theater room and you would sleep right through all the loud movies. You have been so alert ever since you were born it amazes me how much you learn every day. because i am writing this way after the fact I can say that the times have changed. You now love to be out doing and seeing the days have holding and cuddling have changed. We will always cherish these days with you as a new born!
In June we got pictures with Mandy Baker our good friend. She is amazing... it took a lot of effort to get you to cooperate. You are such a great sleeper but as soon as we needed you sleep for pictures it just wasn't going to happen. However with great persistence on Mandy's part it was made possible and they turned out amazing. This month we also had your tung clipped, it wasn't tied all the way but it was pretty tight, so Dr Dahl took care of that, it was simple and you didn't even cry. Your first real smile was june 23, some would say its gas but it deffinatly wasn't because you reacted to us. We had your one month check up and you continue to grow health and strong you are now 9lbs 8 oz.
July- we took your first trip to Waterton and you were great. Of course it was windy so we kept you bundled. You are great riding in your car seat which we are very grateful for. You love it when people talk to you, you are changing so much. My good friend karci Wallan came down from calgary to meet you we had fun. At the end of the month was magrath days and we went to the parade. you slept right through it in your stroller. You love your baby einstine mat the star that sings and lights up is so entertaining.
August wow you are changing so much, i really can't believe it. On the 8th you starting grasping objects in your hands and playing with toys. And the neatest thing happened on the 12th. Daddy was talking to you and you were interacting with him so i started filming and we couldn't believe it... you giggle and we caught it on video it was priceless. As you can tell we are enthralled with everything you do. On the 26th we were at a BBQ at Dr Browns house and just as we were leaving you and i both got stung by a wasp. And for the record i have never been stung before. It was a 1st for both of us. But your face on the side you were stung went pinkish and you slept fine and didn't seem to bother you too much just when you got stung and for 5 min after... thankfully. You also got your 1st set of immunizations... not so much fun. You are such a happy and amazing baby that you could defiantly tell the shots did not make you feel so good. But in a few days you were back to normal.
September look at you sitting up. You are not quite sitting up all on your own but soon enough you will be. Daddy went hunting for 4 or 5 days and and we weren't sure what you would do when he got home. But as soon as he walked in the door you lit right up. You were so excited to see him giggling away.. it sure made him feel good that you didn't forget him and missed him! You have such a beautiful smile, when you smile your eyes smile too and you make us so happy! We love you so much!
October Our adorable little lady bug for halloween. Since you wouldn't be eating any of the treats yet we just went and visited close family and friends. You had so much fun getting to see everyone and i think they enjoyed seeing you just as much. We have lots of pictures but its a lot of work to pic which ones and then upload them so here is one. One the 18th you sat up and played with your toys for 5 min all on your own. Grandma Haynes introduced you to drink from a glass, you love it and couldn't get enough. we can't believe you are 5 months old.
November and December somehow i didn't manage to get a picture in here for november so we will have to combine them. In November we had a busy month. Grandma and Grandpa Haynes dogs had puppies and Grandpa was away so you and i and Grandpa were there to help Blondie have her puppies. You were so good slept in your chair alot of the time or you were just interested in watching what was happening. There were 10 puppies 5 yellow labs and 5 black. When the very last puppy was born we didn't think he was alive, we tried stimulating him to get him to move or make a noise and he just laid limp. But then came my nursing instinct and i started CPR only on his chest don't worry i didn't do mouth to mouth i did it for about 6 ish min and he came back... it was kinda neat. You love looking at the puppies but your not too sure about having them too close. You have started to really enjoy reading it is fun to sit and read with you. We watched the Evans boys and you were great i think you loved having so many people around to watch and be interested in you. We also went Balck friday shopping in Great Falls some people would say we are crazy but you were great! We went with Grandma Haynes and Diana my friend from work. She also had her baby boy ryder. We had lots of fun and got some great deals. December you are changing so much from discovering your hands and feet to imitating sounds and enjoying the excitement of opening gifts. It was so fun to watch you we didn't think you would be old enough to really get the opening presents but you loved it and acted so happy to get water was inside the present. Even the close and shoes you loved every minute of it. And well of course you loved the wrapping paper too. We celebrated christmas with the Haynes family one weekend and the Chipman family the next. Uncle Nicholas and Aunt Becca were up the week before Christmas so we celebrated with them. It made it a fun Christmas to have a little one in the family. The beautiful dress you are wearing in the picture Grandma Chipman got you for Christmas.
January Your fussiness the one day payed off you got your 1st tooth on the 4th. Last month i had started trying to give you rice cereal but you really haven't been interested. This month i have started giving you vegetables and occasionally you will eat them. I have found that you would prefer to feed yourself... Yes miss independent already. So i broke down and put the food on your highchair and you just eat what you want and get soo messy, but your happy. You have been saying mama and dada but were not sure if you have connected who the word really belongs to yet. 1st Trip to Vagas holy only 8 months and you can say you have been to Vagas. We drove all the way with Grandpa and Grandma Haynes and mom and dad. You were really good. Just before we left your second tooth came through! We went for the Furniture show and also to go see some of Easton's mission. We ended up getting to see 8 different families! It was a lot of fun. Easton has been wanting to go back ever since he came home and he finally got the opportunity to go back and introduce his wife and little girl. We are grateful to all those people that looked after Easton and helped make his mission a wonderful memory.
February Your 1st Valentines day. I have so much fun dressing you up one day you might not like it but right now you love helping mom decide what you are going to wear. You have started waving good bye and it is so cute you get so excited. You have also figured out that you can clap all on your own yah! You are starting to move around really well but just not crawling full out yet. You love bouncing and dancing to music when it comes on. your hair is quite curly which i am excited about. A little water and moose and it just curls right up we are going to have so much fun!
March On the 7th you started Crawling. You stay very close to me and having felt the need to go exploring too far away yet. On the 13th you started pulling yourself up to things its amazing you you pick up on things. when you crawl you are right up on your hands and knees and you do it very well. On the 15th you started holding your bottle on your own... but i do help ya a bit.. see miss independent again. You defiantly have it in your personality. but i know that being independent will help you throughout your life its just hard on me sometimes because you want to do everything like a big person does. We took you to see our horse masa this month. You thought it was kinda neat, dad sat you on her back for a little moment. We welcomed a new cousin Knox Bennett to the family. Liv is now outnumbered on the girl cousin ratio 2 boys to her. We went to Bow Island to visit Aunt Laurie and Alicia we went to the pharmacy where Aunt laurie works and had a fun time with their toys. Grandma Bought you a talking bunny and Duck you love them.
April Look at you now that you have 4 teeth you are looking so grown up. You also discovered the chocolate and managed to get a bit of it and thought it was pretty fabulous. I know what a good mom. We went to Aunt Diane's Easter party in Taber. We went swimming and you had fun. You seem to have a very cautious personality. You want to see things but your not too sure when you get up close, you defiantly take your time to think about things like the big mushroom waterfall. Hopefully this means you will be mindful of your surroundings lol. You have recently been giving kisses but not very often you choose when you want to, its kinda cute. You shake your head to say no but you think its soo funny. You have a very determined personality, when you want something you are very persistent. and you will direct us until we figure out what it is that you want. Oh yes and you have drank from a straw that grandma Haynes is always thinking of things she can teach you to do. Its amazing how quickly you figure out you can blow and suck in the straw. We can't believe you are almost going to be one! The year has really flown by. And you are so much fun, you are really wanting to walk now but i think it might be a little while yet! But we will see!
